We’ve been fighting for over a year for a fair contract, but Einstein is still refusing to commit to basic rights and protections for postdocs. While Einstein has delayed contract negotiations and regressed on terms they previously agreed to, the rest of the world has continued to move forward: the cost of living has risen even higher, we’ve fought unprecedented threats to essential research funding, and endured escalating attacks on immigrants and international scholars.
As this has happened, Einstein has fallen even further behind NYC peer institutions. Postdocs across the city have settled contracts that ensure fair benefits and protections, including postdocs at Weill Cornell who won their first contract earlier this month. Einstein needs to meet the moment, and the only way they can do that is by agreeing to a fair contract.
The more of us who participate, the more pressure we put on Einstein to work with us and not against us.
