RSVP for our upcoming bargaining sessions on March 19th and March 25th!

Recently, Einstein has been showing some progress in bargaining in response to our open letter to Dean Tomer about our need for a fair and timely contract. However, at the bargaining session last week, Einstein presented counter proposals that fail to provide adequate protections and support for the postdoc community.

For the first time, Einstein proposed a 6-month probation period at the start of all appointments, going backwards from their previous commitment to just cause termination. They also proposed an article for international postdocs that diminishes visa support and stability for our community which is made up of around 85% international postdocs. With the recent attacks on science and immigration, it is now more important than ever to solidify our rights and protections as academic workers.

The next bargaining session will be on March 19th in person from 3PM-6PM and the following session will be on March 25th in person from 3PM-5:30PM. All postdocs are welcome and encouraged to observe the bargaining sessions.

This is a great way to show support for our elected bargaining committee and the proposals they put forth that are based on the needs and wants of our postdoc community. Please RSVP if you would like to observe for any amount of time during the next two bargaining sessions so we can send logistical information.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or thoughts,
