We held a Bargaining Goals Town Hall last month to prepare for negotiations with Einstein!
We are excited to announce that we will hold our first bargaining session with the Einstein administration on Monday, September 9th! We sent a notice to the administration two weeks ago proposing an extensive list of bargaining dates spanning from August to October and just confirmed the date for this first session.
Given that Einstein is now legally obligated with us as ERU-UAW over all terms and conditions of our employment, the administration has notified us that the Einstein Postdoctoral Association (EPA) will focus entirely on providing postdoc social events and career development resources moving forward. We encourage everyone to continue participating in the EPA as part of your experience at Einstein and to reach out to us about issues related to our working conditions as postdocs at info@einsteinpostdocunion.org.
We hope that the administration will work with us to schedule timely and consistent bargaining sessions so that we can move efficiently toward a fair agreement. As the Bargaining Committee, we will also continue encouraging a majority of postdocs to participate in this process and make every effort to keep everyone informed. Our overwhelming election win and supermajority participation over the course of this campaign gives us a strong mandate to negotiate for much needed improvements for all postdocs at Einstein. Let’s leverage our power together in the coming negotiations to improve not only our working conditions but also lift standards for postdocs in New York City and around the country.
