NOTICE OF NOMINATION AND ELECTION FOR THE ERU-UAW BARGAINING COMMITTEE

Nominations are hereby declared open for the Einstein Researchers United-UAW (ERU-UAW) Bargaining Committee (five [5] positions): All eligible ERU-UAW supporters [all Einstein Postdoctoral Fellows who are currently employed by the school who have filled out a ERU-UAW authorization card] are automatically nominated for the ERU-UAW Bargaining Committee.

The bargaining committee will be composed of five (5) positions.

Any eligible ERU-UAW supporter who wishes to accept the nomination for one of the five (5) Bargaining Committee positions listed above must indicate their intention in writing by e-mail to elections@einsteinpostdocunion.org by inclusion in the body of the e-mail, by electronic scan (pdf), or by photograph attachment, or by hand delivery of a signed acceptance of the nomination to ERU-UAW Elections, 350 W 31st Street, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10016. Acceptances must be submitted no later than 5pm on Tuesday, June 11th, 2024.

Candidate statements:

Each candidate may write and submit a candidate statement of no more than 250 words. These statements will be posted on the ERU-UAW website if there are elections. Address, phone number and email address must be included, but will not be counted toward the 250 words.

It is the responsibility of the candidate to submit the candidate statement. All candidate statements must be received by the time nominations close at 5pm on Tuesday, June 11th, 2024.

Election Dates, Times and Locations:

In the event that the number of eligible candidates who accept nomination does not exceed five (5), such candidate(s) will be deemed elected by acclamation and no election will be held.

If more than five (5) eligible candidates accept nomination, an election will be conducted with the five (5) candidates who receive the highest number of votes being elected. All eligible ERU-UAW supporters [all Einstein Postdoctoral Fellows who are currently employed by the institute who have filled out a ERU-UAW authorization card] are eligible to vote. Members of the bargaining unit who have not done so may fill out an authorization card prior to voting.

The election will take place electronically on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024, from 9am to 9pm.

A run-off election, if necessary, will be held on Wednesday, June 26th, from 9am to 9pm.

Voters shall be entitled to vote for a total of five (5) candidates.
